Brockleby's are farmers and pie makers of Melton Mowbray, the rural capital of food in the heart of Leicestershire.
Brockleby’s are farmers and pie makers of Melton Mowbray, the rural capital of food in the heart of Leicestershire. Being members and shareholders of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association, our pork pies are protected under European law.
Our family run business founded in 2003 makes and bakes up to 10,000 pies every week from our beef with other meats, flour and ingredients being sourced from regional farmers and producers.
We bake our award winning untraditionally named pies such as Wild Beaver, Kiwi, Penguin and Wild Deer from the most traditional of ingredients.
We have pie club members across the country with whom we communicate regularly, an active social media following and have a team that continue to help our customer base grow through sales at Agricultural, Food and Special events. Mail order and whole sale are other options we offer.
Brockleby’s pies are special because not only do they taste delicious but provenance of ingredients is particularly important to us.
New recipes are developed through team input, also family ideas, myself and our production manager.
Our small dedicated team make our pies at our bakery in Melton Mowbray, preparing and cooking ingredients, filling, baking, packing and labelling all within the bakery kitchen.
What is our favourite? That is like asking which child is your favourite. They are all different but equally as wonderful in their own way.
What you may not know is that we also hold fun, interactive pork pie making classes for the general public, groups, clubs and corporate team building sessions and even for a great wedding guest experience!
An experience that can be shared by all.
If you visit us for a pork pie making workshop you have the pleasure of understanding our business more fully with the help of an entertaining yet factual slide show about our producers and team. Make your own hand raised Melton Mowbray pork pie on a traditional dolly and have the opportunity of finishing the process by baking and jellying your pie at home. Yum!
My family have farmed around Melton Mowbray for nearly 500 years and we also make exquisite pies. The area is steeped in history and tradition, the pork pie being just a taster of treats in store for anyone who visit
