Are you a retailer of artisan produce, why not promote your business within our artisan directory?
Local Farm Shops are great ways to find artisan products and buy local. Many of these are either run by a farming family, or by people who are passionate about the quality of food they sell.
This shows in the range of locally sourced products available. They are able to source produce from local farmers or local artisan food and drink producers, meaning that the average distance your food travels is so much lower than using a supermarket.
Many Farm Shops are now a destination venue, with cafes to stop and have a spot of lunch and try some of the locally sourced produce available. Some of the Farm Shops we have listed, have small animal areas and children’s play areas so you can enjoy a day out as a family.
Those with their own butchery department can offer meat that has been reared within sight of the shop. You can’t reduce your food miles much more than that!
Artisan Delis also have a large range of Artisan Products. Many of them can be found in town centres and offer lunch, take away sandwiches etc. Artisan Delis can be a great way to taste the fresh products as many will allow you to try before you buy. The best ones have knowledgeable staff who can tell you about the provenance of the food the Artisan Deli sells.
The Local Food Assembly is a growing movement in the UK where a group of local producers work together to market their products. Customers place an order and it is delivered to a local venue at a set time for the customer to collect.
Food Hubs (Food Assembly) have a website where you can go and view the products available at that week’s Local Food Assembly. There could be one operating near you. If there is, you can get the freshest, locally sourced produce, from local farmers, ready for you to pick up each week. You get to feel great that you are supporting local small businesses.
If you don’t want to go collect an order, there are also local food delivery box services which can bring fresh produce to you. The most common are Veg boxes, but many are adding to the range of products they deliver. Our retailer pages will show you the delivery area that these Local Food Delivery Box services cover.
